Page 1 of 3 WHERE IS THE LEAMINGTON YACHT CLUB ?
Off shore dead reckoning is aided by two prominent apartment towers located inshore of the Marina's basin. Mariners are cautioned of a rubble rock breakwater running lateral to the shoreline across the Marina entrance, although correctly lit with the necessary aids to navigation, it has often been found problematic to night time traffic. Once past the breakwall, the entrance to the harbour is marked by a green and red fixed light on either side of the opening (for Landlubbers, the green will be on your left as you enter). The Marina is immediately to the starboard once inside the basin. Because of this sharp right, entry can be hampered by blind spots, lend caution and be prepared for exiting vessels when making final approaches. As mentioned above, Leamington Yacht Club, affiliated with I-LYA, is embedded inside the Marina and predominately berths at “A / B” Dock, although some members call adjacent “C / D” Dock home, these are the Marina’s seasonal docks. Additional Docks “E / F” and “G / H” are maintained for the Marina's transient guests. We normally have weekend activities planed, both in-port or on-travel rendezvous. LYC meets at the Marina Pavilion on the second Wednesday of the summer months and at slightly warmer facilities during the winter. Meetings of course deal with Club business but there is usually an added factor such as boating safety talks, guest speakers or product demonstration with a social gathering afterward. Club membership is open to any boater although each prospective candidate must be approved by the Board of Directors. Information on the modest membership fees are available from the Secretary of the Club. Please visit our contact page for further information.
